So tell me…
Are you the type who attends an event and spends as much time looking at the equipment as you do at the performers? Do you like to tell a story with video or pictures? Are the tough answers to computer issues actually simple to you? Does flow and composition make you happy? Do you enjoy finding simple fresh ways to communicate a message? Do you often make pictures in your mashed potatoes?
If the answer to any of these is “yes” I’m not going to beat around the bush…WE WANT YOU for the creative and technical teams here at FBC.
Supporting and resourcing the ministries of our fellowship is what the creative and tech teams are about. We embrace technology in order to help communicate God’s message in a culturally relevant way. We know that the Gospel is timeless, but that the medias to communicate that message can change rapidly. We work behind the scenes to create a seamless presentation, which then delivers a message with the least amount of distractions. We work to “amplify” that message, either in a conventional sense (literally, using a sound system) or in a more abstract sense (using various media to help communicate a concept in a fresh way).
Whether you find yourself drawn to the creative and conceptual side, or more to the concrete technical side, we would love to have you join our crew. Currently serving with us are folks from all ages and backgrounds and many different skill sets. The common denominator is a desire to serve and a willingness to learn. They operate sound, video and lighting gear as well as oversee the stage and backstage areas. They also assist music teams, pastors and others who use our venues.
If you already have a specific skill set (production, equipment operator, IT support, etc) we’d love to have you. If you’re interested in learning more about how to work in a production environment, we’d love to have you. If you are a compulsive organizer or arranger, we need you! Perhaps you just want to come out to a rehearsal and see if this type of ministry is a fit for you.
If you’d like to know more about how you can get involved serving in Technical and Creative Arts, drop me an email or call me at the church (jeffw
