We want YOU to post your journal entry!

February 6th, 2006 Administrator

We are happy to report that you can share your journal entry with everyone here as well! The First Baptist staff will usually only discuss one of the scripture readings from the day, but you can talk about any scripture from the reading on that day. The current technology we are using to power this blog does not allow everyone to create posts, however, so your entries will need to be placed in the comments section of that particular day.
We are very happy to hear what you have to say and it will be exciting for readers to learn your thoughts on the other passages from the day. Keep up the great work everyone and many thanks to those who have contributed!

    Hello,

I wanted to leave a comment on Corey’s 9/26/2006 journal, but the “comments” link doesn’t work.

Matthew 1:23 “Emmaunel, God with us”. What an amazing reality and promise. The God of the universe is with ME. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it. I am so thankful that God doesn’t depend upon my feelings. The assurance of His proximity is mind boggling but the thought occurred to me, how am I reflecting His presence? How do my behaviors and attitudes bring glory to His name? Can people be pointed to Christ as they observe my life in action? Regretfully, I fear, much of the time,no. How should my daily walk, my thought processes, my tone of voice, my attitudes be in order to bring glory to His name and proof positive that Emmanuel is in and with me?
In looking at the root meaning of the Hebrew name, God is ever moving toward me, attempting to close any gap there may be between us. My prayer as this new year begins is that each of us (I) will be constantly, moment by moment, moving closer to the God of the universe Who desires to be with me, and that my life will radically demonstrate “Emmanuel, God with us”.
