If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.  1 Corinthians 13:1

Have you ever been in a house that is all but perfect?  It was in the right neighborhood, big, beautiful, well appointed, decorated in the latest style, furnished with the best.  But you knew something was missing, it was a house but it did not feel like a home.  When I read Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 13 that is the feeling I get.  We may be Christians who possess “all that and more”, but if we lack love we have missed the whole point.  We are like that house that is not a home, we look good on the outside, but inside we lack the key ingredient of love.  At 1^st B we are blessed beyond measure, we have a beautiful building in an idyllic setting; we have great programs, dedicated staff, hard working volunteers we see growth and prosperity.  But if we do all this without love we ring hollow like a noisy gong or clanging cymbal.  Ask yourself if you are filled up with God’s love, is it evident, is it real in your life and mine.  If not, today is the day to admit it and ask God to help us be vessels of His love… to turn our hearts from houses into homes.
