Two things come to mind when I think of what First Baptist has to offer your family… and I speak from experience… our 3 kids grew up in this church. We moved to Eugene in 1983 with our first baby in our arms, not knowing a soul. First is a sense of belonging. We made friends with other young couples, we learned from an older generation and as our kids grew they found friends who held the same values and joined them on the adventure of life in Eugene. 1st B can provide your family this same sense of “connection”. In this day and age of change and transition, our church can serve as an anchor and provide an affirming environment for your family. Your children will meet people like them, and more importantly others who are different… older, younger, richer or poorer. It is this tapestry of people that makes 1st B so special.
Secondly, this church attaches us and our children to something bigger than our own agendas. 1st B casts a vision of reaching the community and the world with the Love of Christ through knowing God, following Jesus, obeying His Word, serving His body and influencing the world. The church will provide you and your family a place to use your gifts, join the team and make a difference. My family has been greatly blessed, yours will too.
