FBC - Highschool

Rudy HerrMy name is Rudy Herr and I have had the privilege of leading and shepherding the high school ministry since l982. I’ve been doing it this long because I love teens and feel if you don’t get them early your chance of getting them later in life is much more difficult. Each of us on the team are here because we realize that teens need a nurturing environment to grow. They need adults in their lives who will listen to their questions, love them for who they are, and model what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. At the very least, with each student that walks in the door, we hope to plant a seed of God’s love in their hearts that will hound them the rest of their lives.

We would love the opportunity to work with your teenager. Here are our top 10 reasons to consider getting involved with us:

10. Outdoor activites every Wednesday throughout the summer months.
9. Being around fun and crazy adults who love hanging out with high school students.
8. Wednesday night worship and small group interaction around the Bible during the school year.
7. Opportunities for leadership development and being an active participant in serving and leading others.
6. “The Action”, that lifts your soul on Sunday mornings from 10:05 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. with great worship music, crowdbreakers, action videos from events, Christian Music Video of the week, and messages that deal with real life issues.
5. Opportunity to grow fun and healthy friendships with students from over 13 high schools in the area.
4. Huge get-togethers to invite friends to at least once a quarter , like the Barn Party in November, and Lazer Tag in the Spring, and the Water Sport Weekend in the summer.
3. Fun and life impacting retreats throughout the year. Breakaway Retreat at the beach at Winema near Lincoln City (Martin Luther King Birthday weekend) and Wildhorse Canyon Camp.
2. Because the high school worship band is the best in the U.S.
1. Yearly Mexico Mission Trip during Spring Break
