Spring Break at Camp Harlow

Posted Monday, February 22,2010

By Dave Mertz, Camp Harlow Program Director

Just a few more bleary days and then… Spring will be sprung—new blooms, new season, new opportunities, newcomers.

It’s SHOCKING... that our new season at Camp Harlow is about to TAKE FLIGHT with our annual Spring Break-A-Way Day Camp only weeks away. Just as North Carolina boasts that it was ‘first in flight’, we can celebrate many firsts of our new season.

First Time For Online Registration

Making your flight plans for spring and summer camps at Harlow just got easier. You can go to campharlow.com and register online for Spring Break-A-Way Day Camp and other camps this summer. Join the maiden voyage of our new system.

First Flight

Solid Rock Servants—in addition to our older IMPACT Team and experienced Counselors—the Mid-School Solid Rocks Servants will be serving as apprentice counselors and helpers. For some, this will be their first ministry experience as they learn to give their lives away for Christ.

First B Participation

As we continue to reach out to our community, we can keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open for those that we might invite (or sponsor) to come to Camp Harlow. Spring Break-A-Way Day Camp is a wonderful opportunity for kids to be the first to ‘take off’ into our new theme. But grown-ups can get on board as well. If you have ideas, materials or decor that could help ‘Spruce(goose)’ up our flight motif at camp, then let us know.

First And Foremost

Please partner with us in ministry by praying that Camp Harlow will continue to be a loving, caring environment where kids will be supported, encouraged, and reminded of the love, help, and hope in Christ. We are looking forward to seeing what God will do in the weeks and months to come at Camp Harlow.

Thank You For Your Prayer and Care for the ministry of Camp Harlow.

PS- It’s no secret that we care about kids from around the corner and around the world. Don’t miss the updated Big Picture Gallery in the FBC Coffee Café (on the way to the High School room). These photos were taken on a recent Dental Ministry Trip to the Home of Blessing in Northern Thailand with Dr. Mike Lacey.
